Care looks very different for a two-month-old puppy, a healthy adult and a twelve-year-old dog with arthritis.
From the new puppy at home to the senior dog who needs regular checkups.
Back to patientsDogs are most of our patients. We care for all three life stages: the puppy who needs a complete vaccine series, the adult who comes in once a year for a checkup and the senior patient who needs kidney, heart and joint monitoring.
In large and giant breeds, we pay close attention to hips and joints from a young age, and in flat-faced breeds, to the airway and anesthetic risk, which is different and has to be discussed before any surgery.
Starting at age seven, we recommend checkups with bloodwork every six months: at that age, catching something early changes the outlook completely.
Each one is handled by a specific hospital service, with the same veterinarian in charge of the patient.
The ones we use most often for this species. Each service page details what's included.
